This is a good question. Thanks for asking. My little son, 10 is taking Scratch lessons. He seems to get it. He would love tolearn Python, and I thought I could take this course and teach him.

Basically any one that you're interested in and that you can find decent materials for. The most important thing is not to get discouraged -- if one language doesn't click, try finding a different one. This course is done in Python, which is as good a starting language as any.
