is python the best programming language to start learning?

    i really do not think so cuz in it u got to be carefull about every white space. Go for ruby

    Just pick one. The important thing is to get started. Once you know one language it is easy to move to another. If OCW is going to be your primary source of learning then by all means use python so you can follow the syntax being used, but if not it doesn't matter too much since the principles being explained in the class apply to any language.
