I need help with solving linear equations by graphing. It's a word problem so I have to get the two y= blah x blah equations. HELP!!!

f you have a linear equation y=mx+b, m is your slope and b is the y-intercept. Slope is defined as (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) where (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) are points on that line. Y intercept is where the line intersects with the y-axis. For example let say y=2x+3. To graph this you start at the y-intercept which is the point (0,3). From the equation m=2, so starting at (0,3) go up by 2 and over by 1 so the point is (1,5). 3 Things can happen when lines intersect: (1) 2 lines intersect at a point (2) 2 lines are parallel-- no intersection at all. (3) 2 lines overlap each other everywhere--in other words the 2 lines are the same.
