I can't see what the lecturer is typing on the video - is this provided elsewhere?

    That's one of the defects in this teaching approach. They don't spend time in the lectures explaining how to use IDLE, which is the Python IDE they're using. I suggest googling "How to use IDLE" and get some starter instruction.
