in a right triangle, the hypotenuse is 3 cm more than twice one leg. if the length of the other leg is 5 cm, find the exact lengths of each sides of the triangle

    Use the pythagoras theorem. Let the first leg be of length x. Now, the hypotenuse will be 3 cm more than 2*x so, hypotenuse is 2x+3. According to the pythagoras theorem, \[5^2 + x^2 = (2x+3)^2\] This is a quadratic equation that you can solve to find the value of x.
