Mr. Garza has a picture that measures 4 by 12 inches. It must be reduced so that the longest side measures 4 inches to fit in the school newspaper. Find the length of the shorter side of the picture once it has been reduced.

    4/12 (WE SEE THAT THE LARGE SIDE IS 12 AND THE SHORTER IS 2) SO WE DIVIDE TO THE NUMERATOR AND DENOMINATOR BY 4 SO WE GET 1/3 THEREFORE THE LENGTH OF THE SHORTER SIDE OF THE PICTURE IS 3

    sorry... the length of the shorter side is 1 and the the length of the largest side is 3
