jim and jack run a 36 mile marathon.jim runs 12 miles per hour and jack run 9 miles per hour.how long will it take jim to finish to the nearest minute?

    Using the d=st or distance equals speed times time. Plug in what you got for Jim, d=36 miles s=12mph Solve for time (units are appropriate) 36=12t Solve by dividing by 12: t=3 hours or 180 minutes
