    u have differentiate inside the bracket, i mean 3x-1

    i dont understand because i thought i was supposed to differentiate sqrt (3x+1) which would be 1/2(3x+1)^-1/2

    yes that that is correct, after this expression, u have to differentiate inside the sqrt .
