Grade 12 Calculus: f(x)=(3x^2-2x-17)/(x-3) Determine whether the curve approaches the asymptote from above or below. How do you solve this? do you have to use the algorithm for curve sketching and sketch it to solve it, or is there another way?

    Determine \[\lim_{x\rightarrow 3^-}f(x)\] and \[\lim_{x\rightarrow 3^+}f(x)\]

Thanks but our teacher told us that we're only dealing with curves that approach infinity and no constants. Would there be another way? :/
