Good question =). We've launched the new site with a limited number of study groups. In fact, they can all fit on one page. If you'd like to see more topic-based study groups, we have a survey available from our landing page if you click on "view all groups". If you'd like to see user created groups (or yours ported over), please use the feedback tab to suggest those features so others can cote.

i.e. - until we have more groups, we don't have a need for search. one day soon we hope.
