## anonymous 5 years ago I need help solving this equation. 4-8x/x+1 = 8/x+1 can anyone help me?

1. amistre64

is it: (4-8x)/(x+1) = 8/(x+1) ?

2. amistre64

or.. (4-8x)/(x+1) = (8/x)+1?

3. amistre64

first ones easy: denominators dont count.. much. 4-8x = 8 -8x = 8-4 -8x = 4 x = (-1/2)

$4 - \frac{8x}{x} + 1 = \frac{8}{x} + 1$ $⇔ x \neq 0 ∧ -3 = \frac{8}{x} + 1$ $⇔x \neq 0 ∧ x = \frac{8}{-4} ⇔ x = -2$

The problem is 4- 8x over x+1 = 8 over x+1. I have to solve it.

6. amistre64

i solved it fer ya; x = -(1/2) or 1.5 if you want a decimal

7. amistre64

that 1 was supposed to be a (-) lol.... a aint a typist
