verify the identity. cos ^{2}x - tan ^{2}x / sin ^{2}x = cot ^{2}x - sec ^{2}x

    All you have to do is express the tanx^2 on the left hand side to sin and cosine. Then split the entire fraction on the left hand side in two, and you will get what's equal on the right hand side.

    thank you! forgot to multiply sinx/cosx/cosx by 1/sinx to cnacel that to 1/cosx
