A DVD player that normally cost $160 is on sale for 70% of its normal price.What is the sale price of the DVD player.

    Take 160 and multiply by .7 that is the discount. Subtract that from 160 and thats the sale price

    tdabboud, no that's wrong. The sale price is 70% OF its normal price, not 70% OFF it's normal price.

    I need to slow down and read thats 2 now, so it would be 30% discount so multiply by .30 then not .7

    Or just multiply by .7 and that is the sale price. No subtracting required.
