## anonymous 5 years ago Sasha is planning to create a garden with area of 30m square. she could use a rectangular or circular design. Sasha decides to use a design that requires the least edging material. Which design should she use? How much edging with it require?

Go with the circular. The edging for the circular is the circumference of the circle that has an area 30 m square. $A=pir ^{2}$ $r=\sqrt{30/\pi}$Circumference =2r(pi)=19.416 meters. The perimeter of a square would be 4 times the sides. Each side would be$s ^{2}=30$ $s=\sqrt{30}=5.4772$Perimeter is 4 times this or 21.9089 meters requiring more edging than the circle.
