can someone recommend me a book on maths that covers number theory.....

    There are a number of good (and cheap) texts from Dover devoted to number theory at various levels. You might want to try a quick search on amazon and read the reviews to see which one you'd like best. As far as my own tastes go, I really like George E. Andrews' book--you might try to look for that. I hope this helps you. --A. L. Bruce
