hello

- nowhereman

Not quite. You must multiply the length of the altitude with the length of the base side and divide by two. You try to inscribe the triangle into a rectangle.

- nowhereman

But there are also formulas for calculating the area from the length of the three sides.

- anonymous

ok so if the length is 14ft and the width is 8 ft it would be 56?

- anonymous

Okay look its a rectangle and one side is 14ft and the other is 8ft. I would have to multiply those two numbers wouldn't I? Inorder to find the area.

- anonymous

ok so my answer is 112ft

- nowhereman

112 square feet is correct, but you should rather use the metric system

- anonymous

victoria?

- anonymous

no

- anonymous

okay

- nowhereman

You should cut a triangle off on the oneside and glue it back on at the other side, to get a rectangle with the same area.
