Find the area of the region between the curves y = 2x^2 and y = 8, bounded from x = -2 to x = 1

    you take the area under the highest curve, and subtract the area of the lowest cuve and that gives you the area between them

    Do integration, then when you get your values, you have to substitute x with -2 and subtract that with whatever you got when you plugged in 1 for x. Does that help?
