complete the square ? x2 + 8x = 34

    i think its 2 because the half of 8 is 4 square that 2 . did i do it right i tryd .

    you are getting closer :) half of 8 is 4, that much yougot down good; when we square the 4 we get : 4*4 = 16

    you took the square root of 4; which is a different concept. related, but differnt. You did good :)

    you took the "square root" of 4 which was off. You need to take the "square" of 4: 4^2 = 4 times 4 = 16. The answer is 16 :)
