here's how i would attack that problem. i would first divide 12291 by 12 and find the remainder

- anonymous

whatever your remainder is, that's how many hours from 10:00 it is

- anonymous

i dont get it :S i got a huge number :S

you just want the REMAINDER, what's left over

- anonymous

what do you think the time will be after 25 hours?

- anonymous

no clue :)

- anonymous

:)

- anonymous

it will be 11 am the second day right?

- anonymous

because after 24 hours you will be back at 10 am the second day. does that make sense?

- anonymous

sort of but how am i sposed to find what 10 am would be after 12291 hours with 24 hours? :SS:S:S:S!! >.<

- anonymous

if you get the idea, it will so easy.. the idea here is to divide by 24 hours, the Quotient is how many days will pass during that time (which you don't need at all), the reminder is the number of hours.

- anonymous

you just take the number of hours and add it to 10 to get your time.. as simple as this.

- anonymous

try it and tell me what you get.

- anonymous

i got 12,301 how do i turn that into hours? would it be 12:30? :S:S

- anonymous

I don't know how you got 12,301!! just divide 12291 by 24 and tell me the result :)

- anonymous

OH! lool ok so i got 512.125 :S how do i turn it to hours?

- anonymous

I would have preferred that you did it manually, but that's fine.
now you want the reminder, but the calculator does not give the reminder.
all you have to do is to take the part on the right of the decimal point and multiply it by 24 to get the reminder. that's 0.125*24=?
