two cars leave towns 380 kilometers apart at the same time and travel toward each other. One car's rate is12 kilometers per hour more than the other's. If they meet in 2hours, what is the rate of the faster car?

    to solve this you need to know distance = rate*time each car has its own distance, rate, and time set up a table with info you know rate time distance car1 x 2 2*x car2 x+12 2 2*(x+12) we also know total distance is 380 2x + 2(x+12) = 380 solve for x distribute and add like terms once you know x you know the rate of slower car to find rate of faster car add 12
