Imagine you are at a gas station filling your tank with gas. The function C(g) represents the cost C of filling up the gas tank with g gallons. Given the equation C(g)=3.03(g)
d. For the average motorist, name one value for g that would be inappropriate for this function’s purpose. Explain why you chose that number.
e. If you were to graph C(g), what would be an appropriate domain and range? Explain your reasoning

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0negative , 0(may be) and big positive numbers for g will be inappropriate. the amount of gas dispensed must be positive or 0 0 gallons does not fit the "average motorist" and big g like 200 gallons will not fit the "average motorist" If you plot the function the domain for C(g) from 0 to 100 will work. This makes the range for C(g) from 0 to 303 (from 3.03x0 to 3.03x100) You need to explain why all this is as it is.

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0thats not a good answer. Suppose I went to the gas station to buy candy. Do i have to fill in gas? if i dont fill in gas, I wont be charged for it. makes perfect sense. Choose another number.

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0well, the problem says you have to explain why you chose a number. so lets say we choose 1. can you tell me why it is inappropriate?

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0it says the average motorist It means if you get all the motorist and divide the sum of the g they buy and then delete that amount by the number of all motorists. You will never get 0

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0@ ivanbj, what if all the motorists don't buy gas ?

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0@1honey. 1 is an inappropriate number because you physically cannot fill up negative one gallons of gas. 1 means that you are giving 1 gallon of gas to the gas pump and the gas pump is paying YOU money for it. That never happens. That is why it is inappropriate.

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0it says "For the average motorist, name one value for g" I take this to mean for the average motorist in the world, not the average of a group that happen to buy 0 gallons
