300 people attended the premiere of a movie. Adult tickets cost $10 each and children were admitted for $6 each. if the box office receipts totaled $2600, how many children attended?

    since 300 ppl attended the premiere, if there were x amount of adults then there would be 300-x children

    so the equation would become 10x+(300-x)6=2600

    so 10x+1800-6x=2600 4x = 800 x = 200 since the number of children that attended is 300-x it becomes 300-200 which makes it 100
