an arch of balloon edcorate the entrance to a high school prom. The ballons are tied to a frame, the shape of the frame can be modeled by Y= - 1/4x to the second power +3 where x and y are measured on feet. what is the maximum height of the arch of balloons?

    the height of the arch or the height of the ballons? you give no measurement for the ballons, so only the arch itself can be determined

    y = -1/4(x^2)+3 the height of the arch is 3; but there is nothing to base any other measurement off of

    or rather; (-1/4)x^2 + 3 ? which is the problem?
