I have solved this inequality, but I am not sure if correct 3y + 5y <_ -24 (that is less than or equal to) {yIy >_ -3}, I switched the inequality sigen to greater than or equal because it is true that way, but why do I switch it, is it because I am dividing a negative number by a positive? Can you answer that for me, and let me know if I done it right.

hey do not change the sign here .. your answer will be y is less than or equal to -3. let me show you how i solved this: 3y + 5y <_ -24 8y<_ -24 solve for y.. you divide both sides by 8. y <_ -3 The only time u change the sign is. if you had -8y<_ -24 here when you have co-efficient of y negative, and when you divide both sides by the co-efficient -8 , you've to change the sign to >_
