there are several. 1. self-fertile - can still reproduce if separated from other individuals 2. have air bladders to keep themselves afloat instead of being buried by sediment 3. thick, flexible epidermis to protect from wave action 4. secrete a sticky mucus that helps keep individuals together in a floating mat - this protects against wave action and facilitates reproduction 5. living in a big mat, floating in the ocean, creates habitat for small animals - these animals excrete nutrients the plants need, like nitrogen hope this helps!!
