In a biology experiment, 10 pea seeds are planted. If the probability that any given seed will germinate is 0.75, find the probability that at least 8 seeds will germinate.

    the probability that exactly 8 will germinate among 10 is given by 10C8 (.75)^8(1-.75)^8, this is indeed a binomial distribution, so atleast 8 will germinate is\[\sum_{r=8}^{10}10Cr (0.75)^{r}(1-0.75)^{10-r}\]
