3/x-4+2/x+4=14/(x+4)(x-4)

    well first thing is first.. your gonna wanna multiply both sides by (x+4)(x-4)

    right, the (x+4)(x-4) disappears on the Denominator. now lets first look at the left hnd side of the equation. Multiply both 3/(x-4) and 2/(x+4)by that

    if you have something like x/x that gives you the numerical value of 1. why? because think about it - its saying hey look i have x items to choose from and i have to divide it out in x number of ways.
