2 (5x-4)^(1/2) = 14 (5x-4)^(1/2) = 28 5x-4 = 784 5x = 789 x= 789/5

is there like a special calculator you use or are you just that good?

Just follow the orders of operations and solve... I guess you could use a graphing calculator to solve this, but this problem doesn't require one (and I didn't use one for this problem either)
