    i can try: take for example... (2/5)^-4 since the exponent is negative we flip the fraction like this: (5/2)^4 and another example: 7^-2 we flip it over like this (1/7)^2

    a negative exponent tells us that it is the reciprocal or inverse of the number its attached to
