If you have x^3/x^4, you can subtract exponents (numerator from denominator) and get x^-1 = 1 / x^1 Doing this to your expression yields (a^7 b^5 c^8) / 4

    \[b*c^6/4/a\]

I assume that (8a^4b^2c) is all in the denominator

Oh, if that is the case, then it is equal to (b c^6) / (4a)

If the result is positive, then keep the exponent on the numerator, otherwise, put it in the denominator
