## anonymous 5 years ago what expression is equivelent to sin(inverse tan x)?

Let $$\tan^{-1} x= t$$. Then $$\tan t= x/1$$. So we have a triangle with sides $$x,1$$. The hypothenuse is $$\sqrt{x^2+1}$$. Therefore $$\sin t =\frac{x}{\sqrt{x^2+1}}$$
