A train of length 200 m travelling at 30m/s overtakes another train of length300 m travelling at 20 m/s in the same direction on a parallel track. The time taken by the 1st train to cross the 2nd is

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0pretend you are walking from one end of the train to the other end at 10m/s. this is what the front end of train one is doing as its front passes train two since it is matching train twos speed and then going an extra 10 m/s. So it would take you 30m/s just for your front end to clear. Every second after that (10m/s) ten more meters of train 1 will pass train 2. SO........

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0you tell me. if your train is 200 feet long, how much of it has to pass the other train? it took 30 seconds just for the nose of your train to pass. the train is moving 10meters/second faster. How many seconds will it take to go 200 more feet?
