Good citizenship can take place locally, regionally, nationally and globally. You can look at projects within your school and neighborhood. Tutoring, mentoring, being an ambassador to new students; helping at a senior citizen community center, food bank, homeless or battered women's shelter are other ideas. There are lots of online organizational websites that call for volunteer participation on national healthcare campaigns (such as breast cancer awareness, etc.). It's cool to help on projects globally, such as KIVA, to assist with a few dollars to a small business venture in poor countries.
