In 1990, people in the United States spent about $285.7 billion on recreation. In 1995, they spent $402.5 billion. Write a linear equation in slope-intercept form to model the amount (in billions of dollars) spent on recreation since 1990. *please look at it* (:

    The slope of an equation is `rise over run'. In this case, the rise is the change in spending, the run is the number of years. Now, the intercept depends. If you consider 1990 `0', then you'll have to make the intercept be $285.7 billion. Hope that helps!
