Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0x is the number of nickels y is the number of dimes x + y = 10 .05x would be the amount of money you would have if you had x nickels .10y would be the amount of money you would have if you had y nickels .05x + .10y = .95

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0x + y = 10 .05x + .10y = .95 multiply the top equation by (.10) so the y's will cancel .10x .10y = 1.00 .05x + .10y = .95 Add these equations

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0.05x = .05 divide both sides by .05 x = 1 so you have 1 nickel y = 9 so you have 9 dimes that would be 10 coins and 1 nickel is 5 cents and 9 dimes is 90 cents for a total of 95 cents
