How do you get that

You have one lot of 2^2, one lot of 2^1 and no lots of 2^0. Hence, 110.

in base 2 you have the ones place, the twos place, the 4s place, the 8s place etc. the biggest power of 2 less that 6 is 4, so there is a 1 in the 4s place. 6-4=2, so there is a 1 in the 2s place. there is nothing left over so you get 0 in the ones place 110

Thank you. Alternatively, you can count up: 0->1, 1->1, 2->10, 3->11, 4->100, 5->101, 6->110.
