Consider the theme of relationships between generations of people as it can be applied to "The House on Mango Street, Things Fall Apart, and To Kill a Mockingbird". All novels depict young people who are influenced by the world of adults. Some of the influences are positive and some of them are negative. By using specific examples frome each novel, discuss those positive and negative influences. What is the impact of the adult influences in two of these novels???

wellin " The house on mango street " i can use an exaple of a girl (not the main character) but she is basically controlled by her father ..which makes her make bad decisions in her future (marrying an abusive man ) just to get away from her abusive father....And in "Things fall apart i dont quite remember that book .. so im just going to choose "to kill" and" A house on.. "

In "To Kill A Mockingbird" the adult figure of Atticus is a central character. He has brought up Scout and (brothers name here) to love learning. Atticus is a learned man himself. The lawyer in him teaches the children that good deeds are the way to bring forth beauty in the somewhat dangerous and ugly world.

Other important characters show the children the brutality that the world has to offer. Mrs. (sick womans name here- you know, the one who's getting off morphine) has offered a glimpse into a hideous life controlled by substance abuse, bus she has overcome this and thus, shows the children that perserverence leads to success.

Well, in The House on Mango Street dosen't the girl leave the abusive father only to get into a worse relationship with her husband?

If that's true, then you could also say something about protection. That the girl in House is not protected, whereas the children in To Kill are protected by Atticus and Boo Radley.
