I sit there laughing, barely able to hear the jokes my friends told making us all laugh, the lunchroom so noisy. Its 2009 Washington state, this is my first year of intermediate school, i thought, yet, i have already made so many new friends! I am eating a turkey and mayo sandwich, still chewing when I see oddly enough a familiar face! I tell my friend in front of me sitting at the table "I know that girl! I used to play with her in daycare! Her name is Jordan!" "Really?!" My friend replied very interested. "Yea!" "Awesome! Mallory you should go tell that girl Jordan that Ivy knows her". "Sure!" I see Mallory hop on over to Jordans table and they talk, I see Mallory point at me. Then oddly enough I see Jordans face, confused, shaking her head. Mallory, disheartened walks back over to us, shaking her head, "she says she doesn’t remember you, are you sure it’s her?" "Positive" I say. "Hmm that’s really weird! Were you guys’ good friends?" I look surprised, "Yes! Basically best friends!". “ Wow she should totally remember you then, that’s messed up" Amani comments. Say its Ivy remember? Tell her that I know you have a twin brother named Kyle and a little brother Named Nicky. Maybe it will all come back. Mallory walks back to the table, talking with Jordan, I see Jordan look at me like I am a stalker, and then quickly look away! Mallory comes back "She says she doesn’t remember you... I Think we should just drop it Ivy she seems freaked out" Mallory giggles. "Ha-ha, yea probably". I am walking down the hallway with Maddy and Amani when I see Jordan again "Hey! There’s that chick that doesn’t remember you Ivy...” Amani comments basically staring Jordan down. "Yea... whats the use though" I replied laid back. "Why don’t you just go talk to her?" Maddy offers. "Hmm okay, be right back guys!” I start walking over to where Jordan is standing with her friends, I see her face start to sink... as I wonder "Am I doing something rude?” "Hey! So you really don’t remember me? It’s Ivy! Remember daycare with Mrs. Kelly?” I see Jordan’s face take a shocked look. "I went to a daycare with a lady everybody called Mrs. Kelly... But I don’t remember you...” I am shook, how could this girl who had impacted me so much not remember me at all?! I did not think I looked much different... only mature... "Don’t you remember that night me and you stayed up until we saw daylight, just laughing?" She seemed to remember and I got hopeful, until she suddenly shook her head. "Wow, I can’t believe you don’t remember me..." I let my sentence run off and walk away... hurt that I could have once cared about a person who doesn’t even remember me. I am working on my math assignment, struggling to get the concept. I feel someone tap me on the shoulder. "Hey, that Jordan girl says here" she gives me a little white folded piece of paper. I become extremely curious; trying to keep my cool I just nod and take the note. I pretend to be doing my work and flatten out the folds, making it look like my worksheet from a teachers view. I pretend to be struggling on a problem as I read; Hey Ivy, “‘I can’t believe you don’t remember me?' Well there is something you forgot involving me also." Jordan That was all she wrote, in Jordan’s old bubbly handwriting. I didn’t know what she meant! I hadn’t forgotten anything! She had! She was the one that said she didn’t remember me!! I was utterly lost. But I wrote underneath it; Hey, So you do remember? Why didn’t you say anything? We were best friends?!! Ivy I wait for the teacher to turn around and hand the note back to the person who gave it to me "To Jordan" I whisper. They nod and send the note back to Jordan. About a minute later I feel another tap on my shoulder, and she hands me the note again. I can’t believe you; you don’t even know what you did. Was all it said? I decided not to continue with the notes and just confront her about it after school. I look back at Jordan and she just looks at me the only thing revealing her feelings was the trace of hurt I saw in her eyes, just before she quickly looked away. I was packing up my stuff into my backpack from my locker, I had just zipped it up when I saw Jordan, she didn’t even look at me, acknowledge my presence! I start walking towards her. She gets to the place where I was assume her mom picks her up and I start walking, planning what to say when I confront her. I get there and she looks completely away like I am not even there! "Jordan! What kind of game are you playing! It’s not fun!" I say. She looks at me, extreme resent in her eyes...” “I can’t believe you Ivy; you really don’t know do you?" I look at her bewildered... answering her question. “Did you ever call when you left daycare? Once?" My brain clicks and memories start pouring into my head receiving letter after letter call after call from her, yet I was so busy then I didn’t notice. "Oh god Jordan I am so sorry!! I didn’t mean to never call, or write, or not respond! I got so busy I forgot how important you were to me! Can we be friends again? I really miss you" She looks at me like she always used to, amazed at how I could work people with words, even thought she always knew when I wasn’t working someone and was being truthful in my actions. I saw how she knew that I was being truthful this time and smiled "please?" She laughs welcome back Ivy! We hug and I think to myself... "I knew I remembered her! As I laugh in my head.

Ask these questions as you read: Where did your reader need clarification? Where did your reader need more information? Less? What is your thesis? Did transitions seem clear? Did your reader have any advice for revising wording, sentence fluency or paragraphing? If so, what? In general, what did your reader feel that you did successfully?
