well its the question ^^ i found the answer as 1 but there is no 1 in choices ^^

i think that firsly i solve it like a equation that x-y=3 x+y=5 and then if we say the dat that 2 line fit snugly into n, i find n as 1(that the h of the triangle). then then i gave x and y 0 once for the 2 equetions and i found 3 and 5 of the 2 corner of triangle and then, i found the floor of the triangle as 2 so it was 2. 1 /2 answer is 1!!! but i couldn'T find the true answer in choices :(

If you imagine the triangle being turned 90 degrees anticlockwise, its base is the difference between the y intercepts of the functions which is 8. It's height will then be x co-ordinate of the point of intersection which is (2,1). So it's area is:$\frac{8\times2}{2}=8$

hmm,, there is 8 in choces ^^ thank you but have a look at my answer too?

I've looked at your picture of your solution but I don't really understand it, sorry.

Oh that triangle, I see, sorry, I was looking at the wrong triangle. The area of that triangle is 1. Are you sure the question was referring to that triangle?

9. anonymous

Yes, i am sure, but I think that the choices of the question is wrong...
