Suppose it take 3 days for a space vehicle to travel from Earth to the moon. About how long would it take the same vehicle traveling at the same speed to reach mercury?

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0It takes 3 days to travel 240,000 miles, so that means in ONE DAY the ship can travel 80,000 miles because: \[240,000 \div 3 = 80,000\] Now we want to know "How many 80,000 are in 57,000,000?" that's just \[57,000,000 \div 80,000 = 712.5\] So that means it takes 712.5 days for the ship to travel 57,000,000 miles. But if you're rounding up to the nearest day, it's 713 days. :) Hope this makes it a bit clearer.
