When the universe was the size of a pea - it was really hot and dense because well -- all that stuff you can see in a telescope was all in one place at one time. As that stuff spread out and cooled it condensed into matter, stars and galaxies. Then after a few billion years about 1/3 of the way out from the center on one of those galaxies a yellow star was born and around it revolved a planet. After a billion or so years life started growing on that planet. Maybe thats how it always happens.
