PHP: Now widely used server side scripting language. http://www.tiobe.com/index.php/content/paperinfo/tpci/index.html check this out. There are certain advantages of using PHP 1.Huge support community and developers. 2.Well documented. 3.Easy to learn if you know c/c++ it is very damn easy. 4.Huge developers available. 5.Cheap hosting. 6.Lot of frameworks,CMS etc are available. 7.Joomla,wordpress.Drupal can help you out to make a living. Why not to learn PHP: 1.Rails/Django are catching up. 2.Rails/Django creates more productive developers. 3.There might be fall in PHP percentage of developers but over all growth will be there. Final Word: Learn PHP,but don't rely on it.Learn Django/Rails as well., I don't recommend c# and Java.
