what genre? There are literally thousands of good books you can read. Some of the classics are always good, Dracula, Frankenstein, et al. Good luck!

Sci-fi? thats easy - anything by Arthur C clarke, or Isaac Asimov. Philllip K wingspan is good too - have you seen blade runner or the Adjustment bureau? PKD

Kevin J. Anderson is one of my favorite sci-fi writers, he did some of the Dune series. For mystery, literally ANYTHING by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child, but mainly the Agent Pendergast series.
