there is no particular language for coding in robotics. it all depends on the platform you are using for your robot. like if you use an arduino device for a robot then arduino has a language or more specifically a toolkit known as "processing".you could also write programs for arduino in c using winavr tool.

well i used interactive C to use an XBC and in general i think C its problaby the most used, but it depends on the processor and hardware u use and other things

I've seen our robotics team use C++ for some of their programs

robotics have microcontroller at its heart.... so any language can be used to program microcontroller language depends on the type of microcontroller used and the available language compiler ..since any high level language would be converted into binary language microcontroller can understand

C++ is robust, fast, and complex enough to do stacks of work in robotics and artificial intelligence; it's what I would choose, because I'm familiar with it. However, as other people have said before me, you can use many, many different languages for the purpose, and it depends on the hardware you are using, and your purpose, as to what you will want to use.

I use RobotC for Lego NXT robots. I'm pretty sure RobotC is used for VEX robots too.
