Sam is building a new deck. His decking material is sold by the square foot. At a cost of $3.90 per square foot, how much will it cost Sam to build a deck that is 18 feet by 14 feet? $ 657.50 $ 900.00 $ 982.80 $1,032.80

    i don't know, he is probably going to need nails too, and they didn't tell me how much those cost.

    the area of the square deck is 18x14 = 252 so now just multiply 252 by the price and get: $982.80 but that doesn't include a railing, or stairs, or deck sealant. he really should be looking at the whole picture

    18 times 14= 252 sqaure feet. 252 times 3.90 (the cost per square foot is $982.80.
