How about the role of standardized testing in the process of learning HOW to learn.

What is the role of a university in solving the problem of access to education? "More than one-third of the world’s population is under 20. By 2006, 100 million qualified to enter a university will have no place to go. To meet this staggering demand, a major university needs to be created each week. I'm a huge fan of Edgar Morin's statement that the goal of education is to prepare individuals for the "vital combat for lucidity". My goal in this course is to spark conversations around how we achieve lucidity and coherence when our discourse and our information sources are fragmented and distributed.

I agree with Preetha, it is the need to educate both in this country (USA) and around the world those who for various reasons do not have the resources or access to a university for their education. We need to solve that problem. Various courses available on ITUNES University are in this arena. Is it possible to use Open Study for the purposes of conducting a true course in a given subject? I know it was not designed for this, but can we use it in this way?
