    Actually w3schools is not a good place, it's highly criticized and has some sketchy practices (see http://w3fools.com/). I would suggest any of the alternatives mentioned in that site or the videos at educator.com (http://educator.com/computer-science/html/strine/) which are accirate and for the beginner, but give a good understanding of the principles behind it, as well as explaining why things are the way they are, so you can remember better. It's the difference between having a Spanish dictionary and having a Spanish tutor.
