Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.1The points are defined as (1,7) and (2,1). If you do y= \[(y2y1)/(x2x1) \] you can get the slope. Therefore, 17/2(1) you get 6/3 which is a slope of 2. You can start your equation by doing y=2x + b. If you know the slope, evaluate x at 0. If you do that, the y value is 0. so your function is y=2x.
