This is the journey of Shanna. She has gone through many troubles and has hurdled many obstacles. Her life as been going up and down since she was born. Growing up has been hard for her, constantly going through abuse and other hatred. Forced to watch her back everywhere she went, never trusting anyone but her uncles and grandparents. Shanna’s goal is to get out as soon as she can and become a mechanic like her uncle. Here is her story. Ever since Shanna was born it’s been the same thing over and over again. Putting up with a mom on drugs and alcohol and her mom’s abusive boyfriends. She also struggled with drugs and alcohol. Shanna started doing bad things at a very young age, she was always getting into trouble. She had anger problems and got mad very easily. Then it happened, the day that tore her apart. Shanna and her older sister, Ashley, got taken away from their mom. It was hades all over again. They got moved to the Youth Home in Victoria, Texas. The other kids that were there were just like Shanna’s mom. Druggies, thuggies, and haters. There were fights all the time, Shanna had to learn how to walk away from a fight. Did she, no, she was always sent to her room because she either started or was in fights. As the days went by she learned and did’t get in trouble like she used to. After getting out if that mess, Shanna and Ashley moved to live with a lady in Victoria. Needless to say Shanna was getting into trouble again. Now at the age of seven, her and her friends were getting themselves kicked out of the Boys and Girls Club. She did, however, improve in her behavior later on. Ashley and Shanna had visits with their mom but that ended. Shanna did something really foolish at an overnight visit. She took some downers and overdosed. Shanna then caused them to not have permission to see their mom. She also got them kicked out of the house they were living in, so once again they got bounced to another home. This time they went to live with a family in Goliad. The family was a strong Christian house hold. Shanna improved in every area she was struggling with. She is now fifteen and Ashley is seventeen. They got adopted by this family and Shanna is still trying to reach her goal. She did accomplish one of them, she got out of the abusive home she was living in.
