how can you load a webpage so that it does not load the video or pictures on the page, just the words. For example nytimes.com takes forever to load so i want to just load the text

    Browser preferences would be the most likely. Possibly, and I have no idea, something like a mouse button 2 or 3 click may offer an option.

    depends on the browser. I know internet explorer used to have an optionto not load pictures, but they may have done away with it. You must have dial-up?
